First visit to BP's yesterday on my way back to Bakersfield from Mojave. It was wing Wednesday so I figured I had to try the wings. I ordered the chimichurri wings because I've never seen that offered anywhere else. The wings were well cooked and the chimichurri was delicious. Nice and crispy skin on the wings, not dry and great flavor. Could have done with a little bit more of the chimichurri but it was delicious none the less. I'd come back anytime to try more food here if it's as good as the wings.
I have been here a few times in the past years and unfortunately with not good experiences. The food was mediocre at best and service was something to be desired. So when my friend mentioned she was craving the ahi salad from here I was skeptical on how this visit would go. I ordered the crispy chicken wrap that usually comes with bbq and ranch so I asked if we can do with buffalo sauce instead and she said no problem. The wrap was delicious. It's a pretty good size and I thought no way I can eat that whole thing. Well, I manage to eat my whole lunch. Fries were crispy and seasoned perfect. Maybe some changes have been made. I definitely will return and try something else since I was pleasantly surprised.
It's seriously the best clam chowder I've ever had in my life I couldn't even begin trying to recreate it it's that good!
While by passing by we stumbled across this place and decided to give it a try. We were seated instantly, service was very good ( just not really any personality.. all business ). We had the sampler appetizer to start which was very good. Our entrees were a Blt, down town burger and the Buffalo chicken sliders. The portions were pretty big, the food was good. Nothing spectacular but edible. For dessert had a carrot cake and that was really good!
Went to Big Papa's for the first time the other night on date night with the wife. I got the Steak House Rib Eye Skillet and it was cooked perfect. And the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were great as sides. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. We used the check-in for free dessert and they literally brought out like half a cake! Pricing was very reasonable. It was a nice casual atmosphere that will likely be in our rotation for future date nights.
